Rural Places
Our travel photography 2022 trip of photography escapades is under way.
We have spent many days travelling to get to our furtherest destination Ballarat in Victoria.
The trip’s timeline was for appx 6 weeks following the Silo Trails in Victoria and NSW. We overnighted in Emerald and Roma before moving onto our next overnight stop of Goondiwindi, crossing the borders.
Victoria, Australia, is known for its diverse landscapes, ranging from coastal regions to mountainous areas, and its rural places play a significant role in this diversity. The rural areas are characterized by agriculture, natural beauty, and a slower pace of life compared to urban centers.
Natural Landscapes: The region is home to stunning national parks, such as the Grampians National Park and Wilsons Promontory, offering opportunities for hiking, camping, and wildlife watching.
Ballarat: Known for its rich gold mining history and heritage architecture, Ballarat is a vibrant regional city with a strong arts and culture scene.
Bendigo: Another city with a gold rush history, Bendigo is famous for its historic buildings and cultural festivals.
Shepparton: Located in the Goulburn Valley, Shepparton is a key agricultural center, particularly known for its fruit production.
Wangaratta: This town serves as a gateway to the King Valley wine region and offers beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities.
Rural Victoria is a region rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. While it faces challenges, its vibrant communities and agricultural significance continue to play a vital role in the identity of Victoria as a whole.
