Red Rock Canyon Park in California features scenic desert cliffs and spectacular rock formations. The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converges with the El Paso Mountains. It has scenic fluted cliffs and whimsically shaped rock formations.

The red in the sandstone-curtained cliffs is iron oxide.

The visit to Red Rock Canyon is based around a 13-mile route which takes in various viewpoints and places of interest.

The best stops, and those where it is worth spending the most time, are the first ones, which means you are not left rushing to see everything.
